Stephen Ministry

Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay-people to provide one-on-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of those receiving  care and everything they discuss with a Stephen Minister remain private.

Stephen Ministers are the After People. We are there after the funeral, when everyone has left, after the doctor says "I'm sorry, but there's nothing more we can do." after the baby arrives, demanding more of you than you ever dreamed possible, after your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out.

The purpose/hope of the Outreach committee is to seek individuals and connect them so they can experience a Jesus-filled life.

We do that by hosting events to bring people together to eat, socialize, and create bonds. Events are sometimes geared to attract people from outside of our walls or just to create opportunities for ourmembers to gather.

Past activities include:

Hosting the Worship by the Fire pit serving treats and setting up games

Paint and sip gatherings

Movie nights with meals or snacks

Valentine's Dinner

Helping with food for other Chruchh events -- Join the Celebration, new member luncheon, youth fundraisers among others

Having a parade float in the Hoffman Harvest Festival

Raising funds and collecting food for the H-K Area Food Shelf

Participating in the Festival of Trees in Hoffman

Harvest Bonfire

Many men are intimidated by possibly joining a "Bible Study". Men fear they won't know anything, they don't want to read in public, or they might be afraid of sharing something personal. Please don't let any of the above keep you from gathering as the men of Messiah and learning fro mGod's Word and from each other! We are all in this together and we don't want anyone to feel threatened. Our aim is to be accepting of all men where they are at in their spiritual journey. I see Bible study as an opportunity to deepen your faith, get to know other men and fellowship with them, and learn by faith how to better live this life you've been blessed by God with. Please consider joining us on Saturday mornings at 7:30am in the church fellowship hall. Have questions? Contact Pastor Mark at (218) 851-3153.

  • martha BIBLE STUDY

The Martha bible study meets at 7:00pm the first Monday of every month. This year we are studying different women in the New Testament and learning about God's love and faithfulness through their stories. We would love to have you join us! If you are interested or want more information, please contact Arlou.

QMF is our quilting ministry fellowship. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 1:30-3:00 the quilters of Messiah join together for fellowship and crafting. When quilts are finished, they are donated to places like Someplace Safe or Salvation Army for those in need.
